Thanks to a 2003 Supreme Court ruling that gave paralegals the legal right to "work on their own," Karla was motivated to take her thirty-plus years of legal experience and hang her own shingle providing Qualified Domestic Relations Orders, contracts, corporations/LLCs, wills, probates, trusts, guardianships/conservatorships, and mediations.
In 2008, Karla moved her office from her home to a bricks-and-mortar building at 2217 E. Cedar Avenue, where she continues to use her skills as a trained mediator and provides legal services to Northern Arizona at an affordable price.
Her thirty-years' experience in the legal field has brought many interesting situations and stories, but one of her favorites has to do with helping a man get an actual heart. During Karla's time working in an attorney's office, she did the footwork on a case between a man who needed a heart and the insurance company that wouldn't cover a heart transplant. Thanks to Karla's tenacity and her professional skill, she was able to secure a situation where the man would indeed get a new heart.
