QDRO

Qualified Domestic Relations Orders

One of the most critical documents necessary in a divorce in Arizona is the division of retirement plans. After the divorce is final and prior to receiving any money from these retirement plans, Arizona requires that you file with the court a QDRO (Qualified Domestic Relations Order) signed by both parties, and if you cannot get the other party to sign the QDRO, then a Motion for Contempt can be filed to make he/she sign the documents via a court order.

Karla has experience in preparing QDRO's on 401(k) Plans, 403(b) Plans, IRA's, Annuities, 457 Deferred Compensation Plans, Profit Sharing Plans, ESOP Plans, and Federal Government Plans (CSRS and FERS). She has specifically prepared QDRO's for the State of Arizona, US Government, Coconino County, W.L. Gore & Associates, Hopi Tribe, Western Conference of Teamsters, APS, Sears, Hartford Life Insurance, Peabody Investments, and many others.
